Hydroponics System

Descriptions

Hydroponics is a method of cultivating crops without soil, using only water. As everyone knows, Tamilnad Irrigation Equipment has been serving farmers and fulfilling their needs for the past 29 years.

Last year, our region experienced a historic drought, causing immense hardship for farmers. Many struggled to grow green fodder for their cattle, leading to distress sales at very low prices. Keeping this in mind, we have adapted the otherwise expensive hydroponic method into an affordable solution for the benefit of cattle raisers.

With this method, raising cattle becomes much easier and more efficient. Hydroponic green fodder is a healthy and effective alternative to conventional fodder varieties, such as Co-4. It significantly enhances both the quality and quantity of milk produced, contributing to the overall health and immunity of cattle.

While traditional Co-4 fodder contains around 7% protein, hydroponically grown fodder boasts a protein content of 13–17%. This method has been approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as one of the best feeds for cattle. It is also being actively promoted by several other states to boost their dairy industries.

Hydroponics is one of the fastest and most efficient ways to cultivate green fodder. No other method can produce feed in just a week. On average, 1 kg of maize can grow into 7–8 kg of green fodder within 8 days. By the 8th day, the maize seeds will be fully sprouted, providing highly nutritious and digestible feed.

Our system comprises a Rack (Made of GI pipes or UPVC pipes), specially made Hydroponic trays, Mist blowers, a High-pressure electric motor, and Automation. This system requires Less space, less water, and its ultimate goal is to reduce manpower. For 3 cows, one should spend an average of ½ an hour per day, and it’s more than enough.

For an Average Cow,
